Tonight will be a very good fight card that will test two of the biggest stars in the UFC. Now I know what some people may be thinking of who the winners may be so let me change it up a bit, so we have BJ "The Prodigy" Penn who is 13-5-1 vs Kenny "KenFlo" Florian who is 13-3-0, this by it self is a main event on its own just for the simple fact that Penn is a legend in the UFC and Florian is a very respected up and coming fighter. Penns raw talent has taken him far in his UFC career, however the hype has only helped him to a certain point, now I am not knocking him as a fighter because he is a pretty talented guy but his stamina has always been questionable issue for him. Penns last fight against Canada's very own Georges "Rush" St-Pierre turned out terrible for him, he gave a good energetic first round and the other rounds ended up in him being dominated by St-Pierre untill Penns corner were forced to throw in the towel. Penn has time after time struggled with his conditioning due to the fact that his ego got all the training it needed rather than preparing himself for his fights, after watching UFCs countdown to, BJ Penn hasn't looked so focused in a long time he even has a video on Youtube where he is in a swimming pool and jumps out over onto the pool deck! Kenny Florian on the other hand has always been a very talented fighter with some razor sharp elbows and great Jui-Jitsu has taken him a long way aswell untill his fight against Sean "The Muscle Shark" Sherk where he got completely dominated and lost by unanimous decision. After this fight Florian used this loss as a turning point to his career and has won every fight after that and promised to only have finishing fights in the 155 lb division. I personally like both fighters the same they are both very talented and when at thier best always give the fans an exciting brawl but I am going to have to go with Kenny "Ken Flo" Florian to win by tko in the third round.
Now on to the main event for the night we have Anderson "The Spider" Silva who is 24-4-0 vs Forest Griffin who is 16-5-0, Griffin is the obvious underdog here I have been a big fan of Silva ever since he came to the UFC where he impressed me with his pin point accuracy striking and very strong Muay Thai skills with a hidden arsenal of great Jui-Jitsu to make him a well rounded fighter. Every fight since Silva's dayview has showcased why he has named the best fighter in the MMA world, untill his previous two fights against Patrick Cote and Thales Leites which ended in a unanimous decision have set his abilities back abit and makes you question if the fame and all the attention is getting to his head. If Silva doesn't come prepared to this fight agaisnt Forest Griffin he will be in for a rude awakening, for a fighter who taught himself how to fight, then went on to the Ultimate Fighter show to win and gave one of the best fights in the UFC against Stephan Bonnar to later defeating Quinton "Rampage" Jackson for the Light Heavy Weight title. Every time you see Griffin back in the octagon he is always improving and always displays a tremendous amount of heart in eveyr fight, the fact that every one thinks they can just beat the crap out of him untill he is finished gives him the edge he needs to overcome his opponents. Even though I am a Silva fan I am going to have to go with Griffin for the win tonight in the second round by tko.
